Oro is on its way to become a major player in the gold loan market. We are trying to disrupt the industry and encourage a shift to established and trustworthy lending institutions, by bringing affordable and ethical finance options to those without access. This helps us combat exploitation and predatory interest rates that pervade the unregulated lending industry.
Oro is already making big waves, but we prioritise having a small, efficient team of people who are passionate about what we do. This gives us a strong sense of community and facilitates collaboration, as ideas can diffuse quickly across our team without any of the bureaucracy.
Part of what sets us apart is the quality of our team. Our founders are veteran entrepreneurs with several successful start-ups and exits under their belts, and our team has members from communities across India. New employees are encouraged to ask questions and offer their ideas, and have numerous opportunities for professional growth as the company expands.
We understand that solving a problem is just a step to having more problems to solve. If there is a problem, we find a solution.

We're a Chennai company, currently working out of Nungambakkam. We're located 2.5kms from the beach, 1.5km from Chennai's favourite movie complex and there's loads of places around if you feel peckish or party like.
P.S.: Don't worry if you don't know Tamil. Most of us speak Hindi or one other language
We're quite balanced, at least that's what we like to believe! Although there's no mandatory working hours, we start hustling by 10 am and the wind down by 7-8 pm. It depends on what we're trying to accomplish at that point, and what your role is. But it's simple: we trust you to get work done. Whatever time you'd like to it.
We're a small team and we love working in the same space. It really helps with brainstorming and collaboration!
However, we know times are challenging - so we are open to some positions working remotely.
Backend: AWS EC2, Docker, AWS Lambda, Hasura and Node.js
Frontend: ReactJS with TypeScript (Web), Flutter (Mobile)
Data Stores: MongoDB, PostgreSQL (on AWS RDS) and Redis (on AWS EC2)
